Driving the bass line are two 6 ½” long throw, pure piston - damped aluminium cone woofers working in a critically tuned and generous enclosure alignment. Fine detail and minimal harmonic distortion is achieved thanks to our UHVC technology using a short coil working in a long magnet gap, thereby substantially reducing modulation distortion and increasing power handling.
The high precision 4” mid driver also benefits from the same UHVC technology resulting in exceptional clarity. These drivers have a superb time domain performance thanks to this arrangement coupled with a very smooth frequency response achieved using a bespoke hand damped paper cone membrane. Both the bass and mid drivers use oversize neodymium magnets on a massively profiled upper pole plate, improving airflow behind the drivers and again helping to reduce compression.
The wide directivity 3/4” soft dome tweeter is perfectly matched to the mid unit. This Signature tweeter has a large-roll surround with a textile dome diaphragm and a flat frequency response to above 30KHz combined with outstanding off-axis power. Again it employs low distortion neodymium magnets for superior linearity.
The SP1 Signature speaker is a three-way design founded on a large infinite baffle (IB) design. Neglected by many designers in the market scramble for loudness and more bass at any cost, the IB bass loading is the classic alignment for a fast tuneful bass, one which keeps time with mid range rhythms. Maximizing listener enjoyment.

The crossover components used in the SP1 Signature speakers are all made in the UK. We use ultra high quality audio capacitors that have been developed over the past 20 years especially for high end audio applications. These capacitors are physically very large but have been designed to reduce internal resonance and microphony to a minimum resulting in low coloration and low distortion with very high power handling.
